A Journey Home
My story begins right here in South Boston, Virginia. Growing up in a close-knit family of Halifax natives, I learned early on the value of community, hard work, and the importance of looking out for one another. Whether I was exploring our family property or spending time with my parents and sister, my roots in this region shaped my worldview and my approach to leadership.
After completing my studies at Old Dominion University, my career took me to Atlanta, Georgia, where I spent 15 years honing my craft in the complex world of employee relations, benefits administration, and organizational strategy. It was an incredible season of growth, but my heart never truly left Virginia.
I made the intentional choice to return home to South Boston. Coming back wasn't just about being closer to family; it was about bringing a decade and a half of executive HR experience back to the businesses and leaders in the region that raised me. I founded HR Covered to offer strategic HR support that still feels like a local partnership.
When I’m not helping organizations navigate their people-operations, you can usually find me fueling my own growth. I have a passion for international travel, a love for spectator sports, and a deep appreciation for a quiet afternoon curled up with a good book. I lead with my heart, stay grounded in my values, and am honored to serve the community I call home.
